ARTIST STATEMENT
I use oil on paper as my favourite medium and express my ideas in figurative and landscapes as paintings. I have created installations for various political and social themes. My thesis for the MFA, resulted in a series of exhibitions and papers around identity, memory and collective thought. Due to my busy engagement as an artistic director for a non profit, I needed to challenge myself to go back into creating more artwork. For me, the art of painting is a true expression of how I see the world. poetry inspires me to write and paint. I am excited to revisit all my notes and poems and to create more work from the ideas that I was keeping together to inspire creative expression. I am very grateful to be a part of the Lakeshore Trail Artists Exhibition and am looking forward to sharing my impressions of life around me.
