ARTIST STATEMENT

I have always loved painting since I was very young. Art allows me the freedom to express myself. I paint what I love. I am inspired by the beauty of nature, like my Haiku poetry, my paintings often capture a feeling, a moment or a place in time. I like to paint about how I feel about seasons and places that I have been. They invite the viewer to contemplate the painting, and reflect upon it. I enjoy painting a variety of subjects. I use watercolour, acrylic and gouache and ink to achieve a fresh quality to my work. Many of my paintings are in private collections in Canada. I am represented by the Agora Gallery, New York City.
