OPENING

The Lakeshore Art Trail opens with a warm welcome to the public, featuring speeches from event organizers, local artists, and community leaders. These remarks highlight the event's importance in Mississauga's art scene, its history, and the diverse talent showcased. Attendees will gain insight into the vision behind the trail and the exciting events planned for the day.

ARTIST SHOW
& SALE OPEN

The artist show and sale at the Lakeshore Art Trail offers a unique opportunity to explore and purchase original works from a diverse group of local artists. Attendees can browse a wide selection of paintings, photography, and more, directly supporting the artists while discovering one-of-a-kind pieces to take home.

WORKSHOP

Watercolour Workshop: Cardinal | Instructor: Maryna Salagub
In this watercolour workshop, participants will create a vibrant cardinal bird painting while learning basic watercolour techniques such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and layering. The workshop encourages creativity and exploration, making it suitable for beginners and experienced painters alike.

WORKSHOP

Mixed Media Workshop: Clay and Acrylic Paint | Instructor: Yogita Anand
In this mixed media workshop participants will learn alternative application methods of acrylic paint and how to layer 3D elements created with clay. Both additive and subtractive techniques will be taught. All materials are supplied and included in the cost of the workshop.

ARTIST TALK

Artist Talk: The Creative Process with Rachael Speirs
Join us for Rachael Speirs' artist talk in which she shares her creative process and the inspirations behind her artistic practice. Speirs will discuss her relationship to fabric as the primary material used in her work and her approach to collage. Following the 60 minute artist talk and visual presentation will be a Q&A period.

WORKSHOP

Colourful Collage Workshop | Instructor: Shannon Wallace
This collage workshop is based on the tearing paper techniques used by Lee Krasner, the famous abstract expressionist painter. Participants will be given prompts and guided on intuitive composition creation. Texture, colour and layering are the main elements explored in this workshop. All materials are supplied and included in the cost of the workshop.

FARMERS' MARKET

The Lakeview Farmers' Market adds a fresh and lively element to the Lakeshore Art Trail. Located in the shared space at the Small Arms Inspection Building, the market offers a variety of locally sourced produce, artisanal goods, and handmade treats. Visitors can enjoy browsing the market’s offerings while exploring the art show, creating a perfect blend of creativity and community.

ARTIST SHOW
& SALE OPEN

On day two of the Lakeshore Art Trail, the event continues with a lively and engaging atmosphere. Attendees can enjoy interactive art demonstrations and live music while browsing the diverse array of artwork on display. The day also features a Farmer's Market, adding to the vibrant community feel. Visitors have another chance to meet the artists, explore their work, and purchase original pieces, making it a perfect day to experience creativity and local culture.

LIVE MUSIC

Catherine Gava will be performing live from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday, October 20th. Catherine approaches each script, song, and day as an opportunity to illuminate her mind and heart. A licensed busker who often sings along the shores of Port Credit, she has graced numerous local events including Visual Arts Mississauga’s Art Night Out, the Now Streaming reception, Clarkson Village Live!, and Maker Market Collective’s “Spring Fling.” Don't miss her soulful performance at our show!

LIVE MUSIC

Meep Moop will be performing live from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 20th. A talented singer and multi-instrumentalist with Caribbean roots, Meep Moop is known for her versatility and ability to perform in a wide range of styles. Originally a YouTuber, she now graces events and festivals across Toronto and the GTA. With her positive attitude, quirky style, and inspiring music, Meep Moop aims to create an enjoyable experience for her audiences while encouraging others to stay grounded and be true to themselves.

As the Lakeshore Art Trail draws to a close on the final evening, attendees are invited to reflect on a weekend filled with creativity, community, and inspiration. The event wraps up with heartfelt thanks from organizers and artists, celebrating the success of another vibrant year. Visitors have a final opportunity to browse and purchase artwork before the doors close, marking the end of this year's event and leaving everyone looking forward to next year’s celebration of Mississauga’s artistic talent.
