Jackie’s lifelong interest in drawing and painting has evolved into a passionate pursuit. After a mid-life career change, she decided to enrich her skills and broaden her artistic horizons through formal studies in drawing, watercolour and botanical art at the former Springbank Visual Art Centre and Spillane Studio of Fine Arts in Mississauga, ON.
Jackie’s deep connection with nature has guided her creative journey, vividly expressed in her botanical, floral and landscape artworks.
Having started painting in watercolour Jackie now prefers to work in colour pencil which allows her better precision and colour depth to capture the intricate details of her subjects. Her versatility and creativity are highlighted through her exploration of other media like graphite, pen & ink, and silverpoint as well as her willingness to mix different media to achieve the desired effect.
Jackie is a member of the Lakeshore Art Trail (Mississauga), Colored Pencil Society of America and The Thursday Artists. Jackie is a past president of the former Botanical Artists of Canada (2015-2018). She exhibits within the GTA and south-central Ontario. Her works have found homes in private collections within Canada and the United States.

ARTIST STATEMENT
The beauty of nature and my love of the outdoors stirs my emotions and inspires me. I draw a lot of my inspiration on my walks through various urban and rural settings. I choose subjects to paint by what speaks to me – their simplicity, contours, flow - as well as their imagery and architectural shapes.
Each painting is a creative journey which at times may take me outside my comfort zone yet always provides an enriching experience that leads me inevitably to its intended destination.
