ARTIST STATEMENT
My current body of work is under the theme of Nature Interrupted, which explores the destruction of the natural world and the perils that wild animals experience cause by human destruction of their natural habitat, thereby impacting species diversity, global warming and in turn threatens our very own existence. My two main passions are creating intuitive abstract paintings which allows me to release my emotions as part of the creative process. The other more realistic painting style explores the themes of nature, animals and portraiture to celebrate the innate beauty each subject matter has and how precarious its existence is. My unique, mixed media style of painting brings an impressionistic and expressionistic intuitive feel, where the colors and texture reflect onto the surface from the surrounding light sources, making the colors come alive within the subject matter, creating a surreal almost spiritual quality to the paintings.
