Options Mississauga has been a social enterprise since 1993.
Through our Options in the Arts program, we train neurodiverse and developmentally delayed adults in the production of artwork.
The training program is held on the first floor of Christ First United Church, 151 Lakeshore Rd West. It offers a quiet, inclusive and creative environment where students are able to uncover and develop their talents as artists.
With the guidance of professional artist, Karlene Bland, the students of the program master colour theory, planning and composition of artwork, brush techniques, and a confidence in their ability to work independently. They transform ideas and sketches into acrylic masterpieces with all the skills required to make a living as an artist or in an artistic field.
Options also assists its art students through our storefront print shop located in the heart of Port Credit. Here, we display and sell our artists’ original work, along with reproductions in a variety of formats such as greeting cards and calendars. Our artists then receive a commission for each product sold.
