Charles was born and raised in Quebec. After graduating from McGill in Arts and Science he worked as a geophysicist in northern Canadian wilderness for three years which inspired him to paint landscapes. He then studied Fine Arts at then Ontario College of Arts and Design (now OCAD - U). He currently lives in Toronto where he paints landscapes, city scapes and figures. Sometimes in the studio others "en plein air".

ARTIST STATEMENT
My inspiration comes from spending time on the water and out of doors. I have spent many hours painting "en plein air" as images of water and natural landscape come to life on my canvases and wood panels.
