Elena Dinissuk
Acrylic
Elena is a Canadian landscape artist working in acrylics whose practice is rooted in semi-abstract impressionism. She applies distinct colors to the canvas using a palette knife, then moves and blends the paint with both knife and large bristle brushes to create rhythm, depth, and expressive movement through layered textures and transparent color.
Inspired by the lakes, rivers, rocks, and forests of Muskoka, Elena’s work reflects a deep connection to the Canadian landscape. Since 2018, she has participated in group and juried exhibitions across Ontario. Her work is represented by Cloud Gallery in Orillia.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a Canadian landscape artist with a deep-rooted creative spirit who began artistic career later in life, guided by a genuine love of painting. My work explores technique and expression, as I continually push my creative boundaries.
Working primarily in acrylics, I value the medium for its vibrancy, versatility, and skill in capturing energy and depth. I use a palette knife to build rich layers of texture and bristle brushes to create movement and flow, giving my paintings a dynamic presence.
My work is inspired by the Canadian landscape—the open skies, forests, waterways, and highways of Ontario.
