A lifelong interest in drawing and painting has evolved into a passionate pursuit. After a mid-life career change, Jackie expanded her skills through formal studies in drawing, watercolour, and botanical art at Visual Arts Mississauga and Spillane Studio of Fine Arts.
Guided by a deep connection to nature, she creates botanical, floral, and landscape works that emphasize simplicity, contour, and flow. Working primarily in coloured pencil, she values the medium’s precision and depth, while also exploring graphite, pen and ink, silverpoint, and watercolour.
Jackie is a member of Lakeshore Art Trail, CPSA, CPAC, Neilson Park Creative Centre, and Etobicoke Art Group, and is a past president of the Botanical Artists of Canada.
She has exhibited across the GTHA and south-central Ontario, earning Third Place and People’s Choice awards in juried exhibitions. Her work has appeared in CP TREASURES Volumes 7 and 9, as well as CP HIDDEN TREASURES, Volume 9, and is held in private collections across Canada and the United States.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Nature is my constant guide as its rhythms, structures, and quiet poetry shape how I see and create. I’m drawn to botanical, floral, and landscape subjects for their simplicity, graceful contours, flowing lines, and architectural forms. I choose each piece intuitively, responding to what stirs a feeling within me or invites deeper attention.
Coloured pencil is my primary medium, offering the precision and depth needed to capture intricate detail. Its deliberate process reflects the way I view my surroundings, patiently and with appreciation for subtlety. To achieve the effect I’m aiming for, I’ll introduce other media like graphite, pen and ink, silverpoint, or watercolour when they best support the visual outcome I’m looking for. Every artwork is a journey, one that often leads me beyond my comfort zone yet always enriches my practice. Each piece teaches me something new and becomes a quiet record of curiosity, challenge, and discovery.
