ARTIST STATEMENT

My paintings draw from my fascination with hydrangeas—specifically, how all their petals cluster together. Using acrylic paints and the wet-on-wet technique, I define each petal into a simplified form. Clustered together, these petals convey the lush fullness and intricate, shifting colours of the bloom. Each painting is a joyful and vibrant capture of this elegant flower. I paint full-time in the GTA and studied at the University of Toronto (1983), OCAD, and Three Schools of Art.
