After earning an Honours degree in Art History and Psychology from the University of Toronto, Melissa completed a diploma in Furniture Craft and Design from Sheridan College. ARTIST STATEMENT

My work embodies the optimism and serendipity of adventure, capturing spontaneous, joyful moments through vibrant palettes and intriguing compositions. Each piece serves as a visual reminder to appreciate the present, drawing from memories of travel, nature, and daily life. I primarily use acrylics to express the vivacity of fleeting moments, with rapid layering and unexpected pops of color symbolizing discovery and joy.

Nature is a significant inspiration, whether depicting vast landscapes, intimate flora, or graceful birds. My paintings invite viewers to engage their imagination, adding intrigue and a sense of adventure. They celebrate the thrill of the unexpected, from unexplored paths to familiar views, and highlight the joy of living in the moment.
