I loved to draw as a child, left it behind for a time after high school, but eventually returned to my creative roots. While backpacking across South East Asia I found myself drawing every day and realized this was something I needed to pursue. Since that time I have graduated from OCAD and studied at a traditional studio to further my drawing and painting skills. Currently, my Weimaraner pup Daisy has added an exciting element of chaos to my landscape painting routine.

ARTIST STATEMENT
My artwork is a mix of outdoor sketches and studio paintings from travels abroad and local subjects in Mississauga and along Lake Ontario. The sketches are both a reference for larger studio works and an end in themselves, a traditional practice that has developed out of my love for nature, an interest in observation and an appreciation for arrangement and design. As my practice develops I have become more aware of the interpretive possibilities of landscape, and my focus has shifted to subjects that are more about subtlety and suggestion.
